THE NEVER ENDING INDIAN TRANSPORT CRISIS

Time and again we all talk about the kind of progress India has been making over the past few years. But one thing that I have difficulty in understanding is that the the "Progress" that we are referring to is the development that takes place in the cities or at the grass root level?!?!?

It's high time we do a SWADES check out because the conditions in the small towns and villages in India is ostentatious to say the least. In this post I would like to mention how traumatic it is to TRAVEL in India..

I have already stated here that my college is in a small Haryana village and the ride back home is pathetic in short. As soon as I get out of my college, the first thing I get to travel in is a VIKRAM-this is a mini auto-cab thing where people sit anywhere and everywhere they get a place to sit on,which also includes the top of Vikram. A minimum of 15 people can sit in this auto.I actually thank God that my parents don't get to see me travelling in this else only my parents and god would know what all I would be subjected to for travelling in a way like this...

Next we get to travel in a CAB.I can call it a cab because whatever it might look like distinctly it does resemble a cab. But,once you are inside this cab all your worst nightmares will come true as the cab would be overstuffed with people and your life would be in a jeopardy. The LUCKY driver gets to sit with 4 people and he specializes in multitasking to say the least-he manages to sit with so many people, drive the CAB,change the highly entertaining music, collect the travelling expenses...and oh yeah..how could i forget retorting to abusive language with a fellow cab driver...The situation worsens for people sitting in the back seats.I thank God that I manage to travel with earphones in my ears and a friend for company!!

Adding to the already miserable journey is the condition of roads. My spine never feels the same and the way I look after coming back from college,I leave my mum wondering as to what I am really up to in college!!

And right now,I am talking about ONE  Haryana village. With 28 states and countless towns and villages,I simply don't know how does one manage to travel in the interiors of our country.Transport,I guess is the very essence of development and with the transport crisis that we face,I have a difficulty comprehending the rate of success that we will witness.

This is in hope that some serious steps would be taken to improve the conditions in our country, else God Bless us all...

BAD DAY

This has everything to do with Daniel Powter's song..

I have not really witnessed days like TODAY in my entire life because if I am to actually count what all really went wrong the list would be endless. But since I have already started it here,I shall proceed with describing my entire day and in case you feel like sympathizing with me-feel free to call me and send me chocolates!!

  1. Tragedy 1 was getting late for college and having the misfortune of getting into a class where the teacher already thinks I am a spoiled brat and then having a heated discussions with people in my class for which I could have been robbed of my attendance for a lecture I hate to attend!!
  2. Tragedy 2 was listening to the rumor that my 4th sem result was out and then going through the misery of pre-result tension until I FINALLY got to know my result...
  3. Tragedy 3 was 'THE' RESULT itself..where the deadly AUTOMATA drowned me for the first time in my student life..gosh!!it's a miserable feeling...and I hate it..
  4. Tragedy 4 was the ride back home through FARIDABAD.Roads in faridabad just suck..why can't the local authorities do something about them??My back does not fell the same..:(
  5. Tragedy 5 was being in an auto because my dad failed to turn up and take me back home.Ok,first I need to explain the auto ride..So,I was without money, without any battery in my phone and travelling on a way which I did not really know and after all the traffic jam trauma that I had to go through, that polite auto driver told me that he could not cross borders and it was not going to be easy!!
I guess enough for a single day...dunno why I had to go through this one..!!

"Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
You tell me your blue skies fade to grey
You tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on

Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well, you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong (ahhh...)

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh, you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost"

Had a bad day..:(

RAIN RAIN COME AGAIN...

I don't know what is it about the rains that makes me so HAPPY!!

Delhi finally had it's monsoon showers and obviously my happiness knew no bounds..and the best part about it was that it was drizzling the entire day and no SUN . I am sure Mausam was saved the trouble of using her SUNSCREEN LOTION(girls...I tell you!!)

Here are the reasons why I like the RAINS so much...
  • FOOD :My eating habits are reaching a new high and nobody reminds me of my abnormally expanding waistline during rains because that is the time when nobody can help avoiding PAKORAS,JALEBIS,PARATHAS and TEA...ohhhh God!! I just love eating...Please try eating ice cream when it's raining-it's a different experience altogether.
  •  RAIN DANCING:Splashing water over each other..getting drenched in muddy water can be fun.Playing water games is really exciting. For further details one can ask my friend Himani about the body pain she had to go through after being the only person who had the misfortune of being dropped into the muddy water pool in our hostel...
  • BEING LAZY:The time does not get better to jump into the bed, grab a cup of coffee and watch back to back movies.Being lazy is a luxury that only Rains can offer..
  • UMBRELLAS:I just love getting drenched in the rain, but carrying those bright and colorful umbrellas can also make for a good style statement;) What is the harm in looking good for a change..huh??
  • LONG DRIVE: What more do you ask for while going for a long drive??nice weather, good music, your friends and a CAR(obviously!!) It's time for an experience worth remembering...
  • NATURAL BEAUTY:Everything seems to acquire a beauty during rains that can't be described in words. The lush green trees..singing birds..clear blue sky..it's just PERFECT..!!
I would have mentioned a few more reasons but it has started raining again and I am going on my terrace..wowie..

*Rain Rain come again!!*
