:)

It's not that I don't stick by what I feel, but it's just that I barely had an idea what to write and what not to...Since,I am over the initial worry to tackle the stuff to put in here,I shall henceforth commence from now..

A 9 day trip to Kolkatta and Port Blair was enough to rejuvenate me and change my perspective on a lot of things.A trip of many firsts and certainly a trip worth cherishing. The sandy beaches, the clean water and the serene beauty-it was breath taking to say the least.

More on that trip later..because I have something more urgent to do---SLEEPING!!

The warm and cozy bed is something that only a fool can avoid, but then Ignorance is common among fools..so i spare them my wave of fury and just go and doze off...!!
Twiddlz for now...:)

BACK!!!

Now this is what exams do to people like me who don't wish to study at any time in the year except when EXAMS are FINALLY around the corner--I say goodbye to all the decent luxuries that exam free days provide and I follow a routine that upsets my mother for months to come..

Years have gone and in the years to come,I am sure I would not part with the exam routine that I follow-have kinda got accustomed to it.It's fun when you make late night coffee n have popcorn with it...having a dance party just before the exam(this might scare the people next door, but yes...it's real fun!!)...the power to console somebody and tell them "that it's gonna b ok-max to max an attempt of 80" when you know that managing even an 80 at that stage would be a great deal....

Exams bring out the best and worst out of a person at the same time.Friends would come and help you in times of need and others would obviously turn their backs upon you...but then yes,it's a part of life and I take it the way it comes..

Exam days are over(TEMPORARILY) and I can make a promise to my so called dedicated readers that I'll start writing AGAIN!

Btw wishing you a very happy and prosperous new decade...

ANOTHER STATE?!?!?!?!

My first question...We already have 28 States and 7 Union Territories. From which angle does it look that we are in need of another state Telangana??Second question...If going on a  fast for 11-12 days can lead to fulfillment of desires like these, why don't politicians go on a fast for some sensible stuff..I mean to go without food  and all for the creation of a new state..yeah..why not?!?!?!

Next is the problem of fitting in Hyderabad either into Andhra Pradesh or this new state Telangana. And to this different people have a different solution, with some suggesting making Hyderabad a Union Territory. An Indian child already has to face the problem of remembering the 28 states along with their capitals,Union Territories and their respective capitals..now another state..with a change in capital...maybe a new UnionTterritory as well..imagine the plight of an average Indian kid-he already has to remember a lotta things..and now this new stuff that keeps on going in Indian politics..

Haven't people in India already realised the price they had to pay for being divided on various accounts??The British ruled over India for almost 200 years just because of the fact that we were divided as a country..and carving out new states time and again is again dividing India in some way or the other.Managing 28 states and 7 union territories is a big deal and I applaud the Government of India for whatever they are doing, but another new state??Are we sure that we are ready for it??Given the development rate in Uttarakhand,Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh -I wonder what progress Telangana would make?!?!

Till then...my sympathies for the little kids who would have to rattle their brains to remember all these new details...

26/11

26/11/2008 has been called one of the most traumatic days in Indian history. The terror events shook Mumbai and India like never before. The entire country had come to a stand still for 60 hours. It's an year since then and we still see the 26/11 conspiracy unfolding before us everyday. It's an year since then and I am still not sure about my safety and those around me.It's an year since then and trust me NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

Ten terrorists entered the country unnoticed, enetered its best hotel and killed so many people last year.Had this kind of an event taken place somwhere in the West, life would surely have changed.Life has changed for those who were directly affected by the event, but, the common man remains unperturbed. The next terror attack, the next shootout, the next kidnapping, the next burning down of people...it would surely generate a wave of fury, but we would kinda forget it in the end.Candle light vigils etc are good but what change does it bring??Today my friends and I wore black  in protest-but what was the result??ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...it's the same Indian pyscology of being concerned about things but not taking the initiative to do something concrete.

It's time we take charge of things and ask questions from the government which would give us some sense of being safe, being with the ones we truely love and being terror free.Countless lives have been taken, familes have been destroyed...people have suffered emotional losses that can't be put to words. It's time we take notice of the pain that people go through and take actions that takes consideration of the losses forced upon us.

God Bless Us All and give strength to the ones who need it.

P.S:Tribute to all the people who sacrificed their lives in an attempt to help the ones caught at the wrong places at the wrong time.

THE BIG ROW OVER BEING AN INDIAN FIRST..!

After Sachin Tendulkar finished 20 glorious years of cricket and the entire world was busy congratulating him,Shiv Sena chose that moment to question him about being an "Indian first" and a "Maharashtrian" later..Is it the time when we need to teach our teams to play for their states first and their country later? Is it the time for people like me who are about to start  their first job in a year and half's time to decide which place to choose so that they can avert irrationality and regional violence??

I mean it's high time that we understand that we have greater problems to handle than deciding about loyalty towards a particular state.I am really proud of what Tendulkar chose to say.He is no less than a GOD for the Indian public and this in hope that his remarks make a deep impact on the people of India and puts some sense into them!

I guess the problem lies in the exploitation of locals by people who have migrated from other states. But,that I believe is the case in every state-be it Punjab,Assam,Delhi etc etc. We can't expect all the State governments to behave in a similar manner-that would be outrageously traumatic.

I stand by what Sachin said and hope that the root cause of the problem would be searched and taken care of and rather than choosing to criticise statements of these sorts, people would understand the meaning of putting their country before all other things...

P.S:Cheers to Tendulkar for giving people like me moments to rejoice and celebrate with my friends and family..We seriously owe him a lot because cricket would not have had the same meaning for us had it not been for him!Thank you so much...!!

NOVEMBER RAIN

People who do happen to READ my blog would obviously know that I love rains and when it rained yesterday it did bring in some joy in these assignment n viva ridden days .There was no way I could have forgotten Guns N' Roses and their song that I love so much---NOVEMBER RAIN!!

November is a month which robs students like me of all the peace in the world. With semester end approaching and countless exams, torturous vivas, lengthy assignments and God knows what all to bear with...November Rain does come as a sigh of relief. This is the time when the happy and smiling faces show signs of gloom and torture, the timely submissions lead to sleepless nights and an all time low socializing environment.

But,there was something so beautiful about yesterday's rain that all my worries subsided and I was busy enjoying the rain, enjoying hot coffee with cake in the canteen and then watching movies in my room..(I have previously mentioned the advantages that rains can offer and if you had read them before you could have taken those benefits too..!)

"So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain"

I conclude the post with this statement in the hope that people don't take exam time all that seriously and just remain happy, because these won't last forever. No matter how much I loved this November Rain,I would not want showers all these winters..just the same way I would not want weekly submissions and vivas!!

P.S: I still loved the rain so muchhhhhh!!

THE WAIT FOR JUSTICE

It's been 25 years for all those Sikh families who lost their near and dear ones on 1.11.1984,right after Mrs.Indira Gandhi was shot dead by her bodyguards.Yet,the relentless sufferings have not come to an end.

It's been 25 years of torture..25 years of pain..25 years of grief..25 years of loneliness and 25 years of WAIT FOR JUSTICE..!!

Last night while watching a news channel,I was actually moved to tears to see the extent of pain and torture people had to go through. There was this one lady,a Maths Honors student turned MILITANT after seeing her brother and father being burnt alive in front of her and then being subjected to various kinds of atrocities by her relatives---this is not the kind of life one would want to live. The anger in her took her in a direction many of us would not call respectable!

Another lady tried to kill her 2 month old daughter to ensure she could save the remaining few people in her family. The relation between a mother and daughter cannot be explained in words, and here was a mother who was forced by circumstances to kill her own baby--the very thought sent shivers through my entire body and I was forced to change the channel to avoid crying in front of everybody!

There was somebody on the show, who pointed out that it was not right on our part to term it a RIOT,because it was a senseless and ruthless killing of Sikhs in the country and the very thought made my heart go out to all those who lost their friends and family during that time.

25 years is a long time, and it is enough to shake even the strongest of us.Yet,there are people who are waiting to get justice and are fighting for the ones they have lost.People have died waiting for justice--it seriously can't get worse.

This is in hope that the 25 year long wait for justice pays off well for all those fighting for it.

God please give them strength and courage to fight for their own rights..
